PUPPIES ELDZH HOPE

We currently have black Miniature Schnauzer puppies available from pedigree parents.

All parents of our puppies have Laboklin genetic tests, championship titles and awards from shows in Ukraine and Europe, as well as a breeding certificate — official approval for breeding from the Ukrainian Kennel Union.

LET’S TALK SERIOUSLY ABOUT ETHICAL BREEDING

To me, breeding is a long-term commitment, a kind of chess game involving the selection of pedigree dogs. It is also an enormous responsibility: a puppy’s future, and to some extent the future of its owners, depends on a whole series of decisions made by the breeder.

Let me briefly describe three main aspects: selection, planning puppies, and our owners.

— selection

— The main criterion for selecting all breeding dogs involved in the Eldzh Hope breeding programme is their conformity to the particular breed type I strive to preserve. An athletic build, an alert and intelligent Schnauzer, with an extra harsh black coat and no excessive furnishings on the legs.

— In our dogs’ pedigrees you will find outstanding representatives of the breed, including World Champions, European Champions and International Champions, whose descendants live in leading kennels across Europe and Scandinavia. Nevertheless, when choosing a breeding pair I pay less attention to impressive titles and focus instead on health, temperament and conformation. My motto is that titles are not genetically inherited: the priority is an objective assessment of the breeding dogs’ strengths and weaknesses and adherence to the breed standard.

— When planning breeding, I usually consider several future generations: which bloodlines I will use and the qualities of the ancestors in the pedigrees of the dogs selected for breeding. Each litter therefore has a particular idea behind it: the temperament and conformation traits I hope to obtain or reinforce in future puppies.

— I place great hopes in every new generation of Eldzh Hope. To me, they are more than puppies: they are a legacy and the result of painstaking work.

— puppies

— The foundations of future puppies’ health and temperament are laid at mating. A healthy puppy is more than the result of proper feeding and careful care. To give the puppies a healthy start, I prepare the future mother for mating at least six months in advance. Preparation includes special vitamins, a nutritious and healthy diet, additional worming and exercise. Naturally, I always make sure that the future mother is completely healthy at the time of mating.

— As for pregnancy and awaiting the puppies’ arrival, you have probably already realised that the mother-to-be has a special status. She can be choosy about her food, sleep in the best spot or in bed with us and, importantly, enjoy the longest and most active walks in our forest.

— The birth of puppies is, of course, a long-awaited and wonderful joy, but it is also painstaking work. Especially in the first weeks, we are at home around the clock. That is why we have so few litters each year: every litter needs our attention and presence at home.

— The puppies grow up in our house, first in the bedroom and then in the living room. They become fully socialised and accustomed to life in a flat or house. We do not have, and will not have, separate premises for our adult Miniature Schnauzers, let alone for our puppies.

— Vaccinations and other necessary procedures are carried out by our vet, who has cared for all our dogs for many years.

— owners

— I have described breeding and raising puppies for a reason. I want to explain that following all these basic principles affects how happy, carefree, comfortable and positive your life together with a Miniature Schnauzer will be. You should understand that the breeder and puppy you choose will directly influence your experience with your dog.

— The owners of Eldzh Hope Schnauzers are, above all, people who made a considered decision to bring another family member into their lives and deliberately chose my kennel. Some waited six months for their puppy, others even a year. I value that very much!

— Our owners are curious and responsible when choosing a breed and puppy. That is why we usually first meet when I introduce our adult Schnauzers rather than puppies. Only when our interests and ideas about a happy Schnauzer life align do we move on to discussing the choice of a puppy and preparations for their arrival.

— I happily give preference to ordinary owners, families or individuals who choose a Schnauzer as a companion. This gives the puppy the chance to be their one and most dearly loved pet. But be warned: over time, Schnauzers have a way of multiplying ; )

— If I entrust you with a puppy, you automatically become part of the Eldzh Hope community. I am always happy to stay in touch and support you in any situation involving raising, training and living with your Schnauzer.

— co-ownership programme

— I consciously cannot afford the luxury of keeping every wonderful puppy in my own family, as the time and attention I can give my own dogs are limited.

That is why, drawing on the successful experience of breeders in Scandinavian countries, I am ready to introduce a cooperation programme known as co-ownership. Co-owning a breeding dog is a recognised approach to ethical breeding worldwide: an owner purchases a show-quality puppy on special terms. This means the best puppy from a particular litter, who will later take part in the kennel’s breeding programme while living with their own family as their only pet.

If this interests you, all terms are discussed individually.

My wishes and a reminder for the future owners of my puppies

When the pieces of the puzzle come together and a little Schnauzer finds Their Person.

— When you fully understand that bringing a Miniature Schnauzer into your life will change your familiar routine completely.

— When you expect a full member of the family, a companion with a personality, and are ready to learn a new language of communication with your puppy, growing and learning new things together.

— When you are a grown-up child at heart and finally have the chance to play with a little Schnauzer. In fact, you are doing something serious: raising a clever and well-behaved future Dog, a member of society and your companion.

— They are there for you, and you are there for them. They are the long-awaited and already dearly loved friend in your life.

— If you love life and would like someone to show you how to enjoy it even more, then the bearded wonder that is a Miniature Schnauzer is for you.

This may sound romantic, but it is a very real story about discovering whether you will be happy with a Schnauzer. What matters most to me is that Their Person understands they are welcoming more than a dog: a Schnauzer who always wants to be close and spend interesting time together.

If you want to make a considered decision about choosing a breed, or make sure that the Miniature Schnauzer is exactly what you have been looking for, there is a separate section with articles about the breed, raising and caring for Miniature Schnauzers.

You will even find some rather unflattering facts about Schnauzers there. Your time will be well spent.
